With all the buzz about the unveiling of the iPhone 5, it seems that smartphones have taken over the way we communicate, think, and commute. Some even think that very soon your smartphone will replace your car. Google Ventures partner Joe Kraus, says right now it may be difficult for the typical suburban family to go without a car but believes that may change very soon.
Very interesting thoughts. Hopefully GM continues to make progress on electric vehicles, with their push for 100 to 200 miles to the gallon. Right now 100% electric vehicles are very expensive. Tesla Motors does seem to have a good handle on this as well, although their vehicle range from $50,000 – $100,000. The technology still needs time to catch up let’s see where we are in another 2-3 years.
It almost seems as if maybe eventually a Google/Facebook/Microsoft will partner with a GM/Ford/Chrysler to get us to the promise land.
